ExpertFile profiles provide inquiry workflow to allow for real-time engagement with media, event organizers and many other audiences. Once an inquiry has been sent to an expert through the Connect feature, one of two things happen.
1. Email Notification
Once an inquiry is sent through our connect form, an email notification is immediately dispatched. Where this email is routed is up to you.
First, you can can have the email notification sent to your expert directly. If the expert is responsive and media trained, this is ideal. In order to have this set up, ensure that the expert's email address has been added to his/her account information.
Second, you can have the email notification sent to a third party individual, otherwise known as an Agent. The agent is a user type in the system that has been granted the privilege to manage a certain amount of expert profiles. This person is typically a Personal Assistant or Program Manager. By setting up an Agent for an expert, this means that the Agent will now receive all email notifications sent to the expert on their behalf. Finally, you can also create mailing lists in order to notify a group of people once an inquiry has been sent. Mailing lists are created by the type of inquiry, so that all the relevant people involved will be notified. This will ensure that opportunities are not lost as more people have been notified. 2. The Inquiry Tab
Similar to when the email notification is sent after an inquiry is made, the message is also archived in the Inquiry Tab within the Dashboard. From here, you are able to see the aggregate view of all of the inquiries sent to your experts. You may also read and reply to the inquiry on behalf of the expert, straight from within the application.
